Film Offices are the liaison between
the productions and the state. It is the job of such Film
Commission Office to attract motion media production crews
to show on their respective locations and then offer support
in order for productions to run smoothly. Film Commission
Boards are in contact with the multiple government agencies
that may be involved in the shooting of this film. These
agencies may include: US Fish and Wildlife Department,
State Department of Fish and Game, US Army Corps of Engineers,
US Department of Homeland Security, and County Governing
Offices. If a film chooses to not use the services of
the Film Commission Board, it will take a long time to
get the proper permits to shoot in particular locations.
If a production company is caught filming without a permit,
they are subject to a large fee and the destruction of
their captured footage. This is particularly true for
environmentally sensitive locations that are heavily proctors
by environmental groups and local authorities. Film Commission
Board helps production companies obtain permits faster
than might be unattainable otherwise. As guides and advisors
to the production companies, Film Commission Offices serve
an integral role for the future of greening.
